1.2 Types of Digital Images
1.2.1 Raster Images
The images consists of pixels are known as raster or bitmap images. Raster graphics are highly recommanded on resolution. They cannot scale upto random resolution.without loss of apparent quality. Raster images deal more with photography and photo realistic images. Refer to fig 1.7.

A vector image is formed by the geometrical, primitives such as points, lines, curves, and shapes or polygon(s) created by mathematical equations or algorithms, Vector images can be scaled up to any size without losing the details Refer to Figure 1.8.
